Time for some changes

I decided it was time to make some changes for 2015.  The blog design had been the same for a long...long time.   Hopefully I'll leave it at this for a while and not try to get too creative.
That always spells disaster for me!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Looking back and then on to 2015!

Taking a moment to look back over some of the doilies I've made this year.  I have definitely incorporated more color, which I like.  My first goal is to finish those that I have started ...... cleaning out the "in progress" basket, and then seeing what I can find exciting to make in 2015.

Wishing everyone a Blessed and Happy New Year!!

Christmas Rose Doily

A holiday doily called Christmas Rose.  Made with #10 thread using a #6 hook.  Started 12/11/2014 and finished 12/18/2014.  Measures 16 inches. (Colors used are white, deep rose and gold) The pattern comes for an Annie's Attic book called Decorative Doilies.  There are definitely some additional patterns in this book that I want to make.

Hope everyone is having a good week.  Thanks for stopping by...

Cosmos Doily

This doily comes from the book Stellar Beauties.  It was made with #20 thread using a #11 hook and measures 13 inches.  Started 6/16/2014; finished 12/3/2014 - it was laid down and picked back up.  I just couldn't get excited about it although I do like it once it was finished.

Thanks for taking a look....

Blooming Flower Tabletopper

This piece is a large filet table topper that I've seen on several sites on the internet.  It is crocheted in the round using #30 thread and a #14 hook.  The finished piece is 30 inches across. It was started 8/28/2014 and finished 11/22/2014, although I did put it down several times to make other things.  I'm really pleased on how it turned out!

One place I found the pattern is HERE.

New Oval Doily

I've seen this pattern floating around the internet on several foreign sites and fell in love with it.
I seem to remember it was part of a set that included a round doily and two oval doilies.
I can't find the round doily now...but will continue looking.  I really love the look of it and may make another one in the same color for a set of oval ones if I'm unsuccessful in my search for the round pattern.

Started 11/8/2014; finished 11/10/2014 using #10 thread with a #8 hook.  Measures 13" long.

I trust everyone is resting up from the Christmas activity.
Thanks for stopping by.

I'm still here...

Wanted to check in and let everyone know I'm still here and still crocheting.  I've gotten behind on my posting though.  I have five projects finished and blocked, but we seem to continually have winter type weather which isn't good for picture taking!  Hopefully I will be able to take photos and post soon.

One I am especially proud of; it's a filet table topper that this 30 inches across!  Made with #30 thread.  I need to do a little fine tuning  on the blocking of this one.

Thanks for stopping by....

Mystery Item

A friend was cleaning out some boxes that contained items from her mother-in-law and came across this.  We are trying to figure out what it is.  Does anyone have any ideas??

Thanks

Christmas Tree Doilies

Two doilies that were made as gifts.  I think I've made this doily over the years 7-8 times.  It's easy to do and works up rather quickly.  Made with #10 thread  using a #8 hook.  They have already been delivered to friends.   Started 11/2/2014 and finished 11/16/2014.

Thanks for stopping by and hoping you are having a nice Sunday!

Loves Me, Loves Me Not Doily

This doily was recently found unfinished in the bottom of my crochet basket.  In looking for the pattern, I found I had started it on Thanksgiving day 2013 (11/28/13).  Well, I just had to pull it out and finish it.  Finally completed on 8/2/2014.  #20 Lizbeth thread with a #11 hook.  Measures 13 inches.  The pattern comes for Decorative Crochet, issue 68.

I definitely have to take a closer look at what all is in the basket.

Hope you are having a great Friday!
